Cavallo Point Cooking Class - Piet Tryzelaar

On November 20th, I attended a workshop and cooking class on demystifying the practices inherent to biodynamic farming and how it benefits our earth at the Cavallo Point Cooking School located at the Golden Gate National Park. Biodynamic agriculture is the process growing  and producing the healthiest possible foods while nourishing and revitalizing the earth. The workshop was run by Gena Nonini, who runs the certified biodynamic Marian Farms located in California's central San Joaquin Valley. The farm’s executive chef will taught a cooking class using biodynamic ingredients.  This event brought together farmers, chefs and people from the community, where we could talk, learn, cook and share a meal together. I am extremely interested in this style of gathering. It is a great example of the type of community food project that I want to help facilitate in the future. I feel my research and creative development greatly benefited by being able to experience it first hand.
